Hoosierbrand is an independent, print-first journal documenting Indiana lives shaped by work, land, and responsibility. We are not a news outlet, nor a platform for promotion. Our work is rooted in observation, patience, and care—often centered on people and places that rarely seek attention.

We listen for stories that reflect peace, where communities govern themselves through trust and quiet order; plenty, earned through labor, craft, and stewardship rather than excess; and independence, sustained by skill, self-reliance, and local knowledge. Our subjects are often those who work without spectacle, advertise little, and speak plainly—farmers, craftsmen, builders, volunteers, and families whose lives are deeply tied to place.

Hoosierbrand is not seeking opinion pieces, trend stories, advocacy, influencer features, or promotional content. If a story exists primarily to gain attention, sell a product, or advance a cause, it is likely not a fit. We are interested instead in lives lived steadily and with purpose—work that endures, routines that matter, and places shaped over time.

You do not need to write a pitch. If you know of a person, place, or way of life in Indiana that feels worth remembering, we welcome you to tell us about it. Plain language is preferred. Many of the stories we publish come through quiet referrals and long conversations rather than formal proposals.

Hoosierbrand moves deliberately. Not every story we hear will appear in print. Some are kept for future issues; others simply help us better understand the places we document. When a story is pursued, the process often unfolds over months, not weeks.
